When Jews and Jewish Wannabes Attack what they don't understand.
About twenty six years ago, in my first year of Bible college, I was attending a class called 'The Life and Epistles
of Paul' taught by the President of the college's wife.
A student in the class named Warren Dennis, invited me over to his house after class.
I went over there and met him and his buddy. They asked me what i believed and i took about one minute to tell
them.
Then they went into what they believed and it was so comprehensive that they might as well have been speaking to
me in another language.
I didn't understand them but they gave me a book that explained what they believed.
These guys sometimes came off to me as arrogant and sometimes they were, but what i was seeing most of the time
was a comprehensive understanding of scripture.
I read that book they gave me several times, and agreed with most of it, though not all of it.
I put that book down for several years and did a study of the mysteries and this helped me understand where they
were coming from and where they were wrong.
This book is now online, so if anyone wants to know essentially where i am coming from then that is a good place
to start.
Here is the link:
http://geocities.com/protestantscot/ttd/chapter2.html
Now I don't agree with all of it and my studies of the mysteries on my own gave me a better understanding of the
two programs that are in effect in the NT.
Now sometimes my beliefs and conviction of those beliefs are perceived as arrogance when I am just convinced of
my beliefs.
This irritates people, especially Jews and Jewish Wannabes that attack what they don't understand.
A child can understand what i believe if they are open to it, though it took me years to finally get a grasp of
the subject.
Jews and Jewish Wannabes attack that which they don't understand.
I would post numerous articles and my own writings to try to explain where I was coming from and the responses
or lack of responses told me that people were not reading the messages or were confused as to what I was actually saying.
That sometimes didn't stop them from attacking what they didn't understand anyhow.
The apostle Paul was convinced of some things as well. Conviction is not arrogance.
Here are some things that Paul was convinced of :
Paul unlike the JW's was confident that when we die though our
bodies remain in the grave, until the rapture, we will be present with the Lord.
'We are CONFIDENT, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.' (2 Corinthians
5:8)
This verse irritates Soul Sleepers and Seventh Day Adventists.
Then there is Paul's confidence in Christ.
"Being CONFIDENT of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day
of Jesus Christ"
(Philippians 1:6)
This irritates those that believe you can lose your salvation.
Paul commends Abraham for being persuaded of some things as well.
"He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And
BEING FULLY PERSUADED that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22 And therefore it was imputed to him for
righteousness." (Romans 4)
AND
Speaking of Meat and Holy days.
"Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an
occasion to fall in his brother's way. 14 I know, and am PERSUADED BY THE LORD JESUS, that there is nothing unclean of itself:
but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. (Romans 14)
This irritates Jews, Jewish wannabes i.e. Seventh Days, etc.
Nothing can separate us from God's Love.
"For I am PERSUADED, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,
nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which
is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38)
AND
"For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed,
and am PERSUADED that HE is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." (2 Timothy 1:12)
Though Paul gave a scathing warning in the following chapter he ends with, "But, beloved, we are PERSUADED better
things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. 10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work
and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints,
and do minister." (Hebrews 6)
These verse all speak of Paul's conviction not arrogance that we are secure in Christ.
Finally, Paul speaks of the saints:
"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were PERSUADED of
them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth." (Hebrews 11)
So my advice to you is be confident and persuaded of these things as well.
The things that Paul was convinced of above are typically and mostly what the Judaizers and Jewish Wannabes (Catholics,
Seventh Day Adventists, JW's, etc) are against. If you didn't see it please read it again.
Those of dispensational persuasion are convinced of and emphasize these points as well.
Jews and Jewish Wannabes don't understand and they attack what they don't understand.
The ultimate mystery is Christ (1 Timothy 3:16;Colossians 1:26,27) and this is how the Jews responded to Him.
"
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
COMPREHENDED IT NOT."
AND
"
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness
HAS NOT OVERCOME IT." (John 1)
Eventually the Jews had Christ crucified. (Acts 2:36 ; 1 Thess. 2:5)
"Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him
both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified."
"For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus which are in Judea; for you suffered
the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews, 15
WHO KILLED BOTH THE LORD JESUS AND THE PROPHETS, and drove us out,
and displease God and oppose all men 16 by HINDERING US FROM SPEAKING TO THE GENTILES that they may be saved--so as
always to fill up the measure of their sins. But God's wrath has come upon them at last! "
This rejection of the Jews of the ultimate mystery resulted in a prophetic delay that we are presently in.
Notice the time gap between Acts 2:18 and 2:19
This is the time of the mysteries. (Romans 11)
The prophetic program will be resumed in the end, during Jacob's Trouble but presently we are in the church age.
The Jews didn't understand what Paul was convinced of either.
"And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, "It was necessary
that the word of God should be spoken first to you. Since you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal
life, behold, WE TURN TO THE GENTILES. 47 For so the Lord has commanded
us, saying, 'I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.'"
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of God; AND AS MANY
AS WERE ORDAINED TO ETERNAL LIFE BELIEVED." (Acts 13,14)
This also talks about those that were ordained to eternal life believed-One of the things Paul was convinced of
in the previous verses.
Do you see what is going on here?
Paul's message to the Gentiles is making the Jews jealous and violent.
"Now at Ico'nium they entered together into the Jewish synagogue, and so spoke that a great company believed, both
of Jews and of Greeks. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren."
(Acts 14)
Paul's message was for all, Jesus and the twelves message was primarily to the Jew. (Matthew 10:5; Galatians 2:8,9)
This doesn't mean that one replaces the other but that one completes the other.
13 Now I am speaking
to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry 14 in
order to MAKE MY FELLOW JEWS JEALOUS,
AND SAVE SOME OF THEM. 15 For if their
rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? ....25 Lest you be wise in your own conceits, I want you to UNDERSTAND THIS MYSTERY, brethren: a hardening
has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles come in, 26 and so all Israel
will be saved; as it is written, "The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob"; (Romans 11)
Now only a dispensational view properly explains how only 'some of them' (Israel will be saved), and 'All Israel
will be saved.'
The Jews became Jealous when the apostle Paul turned to the Gentiles.
They don't understand what Paul was convinced of and they attack what they don't understand.
This is why there will be many that will attack but few that will get it.
One will never win any popularity contests when proclaiming the truth.
If Jewish Wannabes and Heretics are defending you then you have a problem.
It took me years to get a grasp on this and it was because i wanted to know the truth not because I am brilliant.
The faith of a little child, believing that God means what he says, is what got me to where I am.
So just look at scriptures and ask whether there is two sequential programs going on, One now and One for Israel
in the Tribulation and it will actually make things easier to understand.
When you see a distinction between Israel and the church then you are on your way to higher truth.
When I started understanding this rather than rejecting it understanding the bible became simple.
Give it a try.
"Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ,
according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to
the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: 27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen." (Romans 16)
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in
thereat: 14 Because strait
is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7)
