Are You Eternally Insecure?
Are You One of those Christians that are commited to insecurity all your
life?
Does your voice shake when you talk?
Then here are some scriptures having to do with your place with Christ.
Watch out for those Jewish Wannabes that want to mix up verses having to do with
the Jews in the Tribulation with the Body of Christ.
The Biblical teaching of Eternal Security doesn't excuse bad behaviour.
While, those that are eternally insecure say that one can lose their salvation,
and should live in fear all their lives, the Eternal Security Folks should say that one that permanently falls away never
was saved in the first place.
The ones that are eternally insecure typically mix up Israel in the Tribulation with
the body of Christ.
He that endures to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 24)-Promise to Tribulation
believers.
He that is saved, endures to the end.
Promise to the body of Christ.
9 Even though
we speak like this, dear friends, we are confident of better things in your case--things that accompany salvation.
10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work
and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. (Hebrews 6)
39 But we are not
of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. (Hebrews 10)
12 If any man
builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will
be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14 If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping
through the flames. (1 Corinthians 3)
Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist
is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. 19 They went out from
us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their
going showed that none of them belonged to us. (1 John 2)
This should not be a dividing point, so if Christians want to be eternally insecure
then let them.
"It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out
of goodwill. 16 The latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The
former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am
in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives
or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice" (Philippians 1)
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing
judgment on disputable matters. 2 One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is
weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man
who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4 Who are you to judge
someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. 5 One
man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced
in his own mind." (Romans 14)
To be specific Paul here was talking to the Roman Christians about Jews
or Jewish Wannabes that were still practicing Jewish customs and guidelines and were still 'weak in faith', thinking that
these things somehow enhanced or maintained their relationship with Christ.
Paul said, that we should not argue with them but just be 'fully convinced in
our own minds', because they haven't gotten to the point of understanding that a day is a day and all food is good for eating.
However, this is what Paul was fully convinced of:
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution
or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we
are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him
who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the
present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be
able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8)
10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled
to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! (Romans
5)
I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able
to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. (2 Timothy 1)
6 being confident of this, that
he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1)
Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened
in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
22 This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness." (Romans 4)
Do you see what Paul is convinced of?
He is convinced of his security in Christ.
So why is the eternally insecure Christian insecure?
Because he or she is not 'persuaded' and 'convinced of what Paul and Abraham
was here.
Because they are not convinced that God has the 'power to do what he had
promised.' (Romans 4:21)
When God gave them eternal life, they thought he really meant six months
life.
When the plain sense makes sense, they seek some other sense.
But if that is what it takes to motivate them to serve the Lord then so be it.
Some people may need a little Hell Fire and Brimstone but I serve the Lord from
a grateful heart.
