Preterism and Calvinism?

I heard a Preterist say that she has never known a Preterist that
wasn't also calvinist in his or her understanding.

This baffles me. How can one think that God chose Israel, but because of Israel's unfaithfulness rejected them as a nation forever but that God choosing us means that he will irresistably make and maintain us as his children?

Even a preterist Pastor of another group quoted Ezekiel 36 as evidence of God's faithfulness in redemption. Get this, he rejected its application to Israel, for whom it was originally intended but accepted it as applicable to us as Christians.

In other words it is all right to be a preterist calvinist but not a calvinistic Jew.

This is to say that God's faithfulness did not extend to Israel but extends to us.

How can one believe that God would forever condemn Israel for their unfaithfulness but make it impossible for us to be unfaithful.

This is just one example of many to come of a misunderstanding of Israels role today and in the future.
